Digital Intelligence Systems, LLC (DISYS) is proud to announce its partnership with the White House TechHire initiative.
In March of 2015, President Obama unveiled the TechHire initiative to expand local technology sectors through community-based talent pipelines. The program focuses on:
- Disconnected youth
- Long-term unemployed
- Candidates who attended college but did not graduate
TechHire pairs these non-traditional, often overlooked professionals with employers and IT industry experts who can impart vital information to help them compete in today’s tough job market.
“TechHire is an initiative DISYS supports wholeheartedly,” said DISYS Director Cydney Peyton Walton, who heads up Community Initiatives at DISYS. “It is in line with our core values and leverages our experience in finding and preparing top talent for companies with IT needs. We have been putting people to work for 23 years and are happy to share our expertise with the deserving professionals TechHire serves.”

Understanding sometimes, the best candidates come to their experience and education in non-traditional ways, DISYS engaged in this partnership to help talented professionals who struggle with access to expand their employment options, refine interview skills and coach them in presenting their experience in ways that showcase their unique qualifications.

When DISYS leadership announced the TechHire partnership to its recruiters, more than 15 had volunteered in the first 24 hours -- A testament to DISYS’ commitment to preparing the best IT talent to enter the workforce.
“I am really excited about being a part of TechHire,” said DISYS Recruiter & TechHire volunteer Susan Bing. “As recruiters, we have helped jobseekers overcome obstacles to finding employment and it is a real privilege to get to help close the employment gap in our country by working with TechHire’s focused candidates.”
Each volunteer recruiter at DISYS will spend time with up to 10 TechHire candidates across the country, prepping them for interviews, going over individual resumes and talking through strategies to help gain employment. The volunteers will also share industry insights gleaned from their vast knowledge of the job market.
“Because DISYS has multiple offices in the United States, our Recruiters have unique knowledge of local market forces. This presents a unique opportunity to help TechHire professionals across the country,” Ahmed said. “We are proud so many within our organization stepped up to help make a difference in the lives of these jobseekers.”

On March 10, 2015, President Obama announced his TechHire initiative, a new campaign to expand local tech sectors by building tech talent pipelines in communities across the country. That announcement included three main components: (1) More than 20 communities with over 300 employer partners signed on to pilot accelerated training strategies; (2) large private-sector companies and national organizations committed to providing tools to support these TechHire communities; and (3) the President pledged $100 million in federal grant funding.
