Janus Hires Regional Retirement Director for the Financial Institutions Team

Janus Capital Group Inc. (NYSE: JNS) today announced the appointment of Mike Malinsky as regional retirement director of Financial Institutions. In this new role, Malinsky will partner with divisional managers and wholesalers in the insurance industry to promote Janus’ strong product options. He will also be responsible for facilitating sales, servicing and strategy implementation within the Financial Institutions team. Malinsky, who will cover the eastern territory, reports directly to Chris Furman, vice president and managing director of Financial Institutions.

“Mike has the experience and the drive to leverage his skills and solidify strong relationships with variable and retirement client sales professionals,” said Furman. “He is a valuable addition to our group.”

Prior to joining Janus, Malinsky was vice president and funds manager at Genworth Financial. He has more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 11 years with Genworth. He managed all mutual fund relationships within Genworth’s variable annuity and group annuity policies, which represented approximately $12 billion of assets under management. Malinsky earned a bachelor of science degree in finance and a master of business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

“I look forward to working with our clients and demonstrating why we are a worthy option for variable annuities and defined contribution plans,” said Malinsky. “When our high-conviction products are combined with our Janus Labs program and thought leadership platform, we clearly have unique tools to provide an exceptional client experience.”
