Molina Healthcare of Washington announced today that the health plan has been re-awarded with an ‘Excellent’ rating by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its service and clinical quality. This is the highest accreditation that a health plan can receive.
In order to obtain an ‘Excellent’ rating, Molina had to meet or exceed NCQA's rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement.
“At Molina Healthcare, maintaining an ‘Excellent’ status for our NCQA accreditation is very important to our organization,” said Glen Bogner, president of Molina Healthcare of Washington. “This accreditation reflects our continued commitment and ability to provide high-quality health care services to our members.”
The standards of the NCQA accreditation process are purposely set high to encourage health plans to continuously enhance their quality. No comparable evaluation exists for fee-for-service health care.
“Earning Excellent Accreditation reflects a health plan's ability to work with its members’ physicians to improve the quality of clinical care,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, NCQA president of marketing material. “It shows that the plan is building the kinds of partnerships that are critical to delivering great care and great service.”
